Canticum Novum

Founded in 1959, Canticum Novum is a Christian a cappella choir with Yolanda Botha as conductor.

The name Canticum Novum means "New Song" and is derived from Psalm 96:1, which starts with the words Cantate Domino canticum novum (Sing to the Lord a new song). With members from all around the Cape area, including Stellenbosch, Somerset West, Strand and surrounding areas, this diverse group's mission is to spread the joy of praising the Lord through song.

The members, from all ages and backgrounds, practice together once a week, either in Somerset West or Stellenbosch, and perform at various functions, churches and in different towns and cities throughout the year.
