About

Bambini Ice-cream, where a legacy of authentic Italian ice-cream making began in 1882 in Germany.

Our founder, Bortolo Belfi, ignited a family tradition that has flourished through five generations. In 1994, Luca's

parents, Miguel and Constance, brought this cherished heritage to South Africa, adapting their family recipes to

delight local taste buds. They established *La Veneziana* in Magaliesburg, and in 1999, built a dedicated

ice-cream factory, with young Luca lending a hand from the age of three.

In 2020, Luca took the helm, rebranding the beloved La Veneziana to Bambini Ice-cream, meaning "children" in Italian—a tribute to the joy and creativity of childhood. This name embodies the warmth of our family tradition, passed down through generations. At Bambini, we honor our lineage by crafting incomparable ice-cream from real ingredients, guided by the wisdom of our ancestors. Experience the joy of Bambini

Ice-cream, where every scoop tells a story of our family history and passion.

"Had such a fantastic time at the Bambini Ice-Cream Festival! The concept of sampling multiple scoops was a real treat, I got to try 16 different flavours and every single one was delicious. The atmosphere was festive and lively, with a great market setup, live music from a band, and plenty of seating to relax and enjoy the day. The variety of food trucks was also a big highlight, there was something for everyone, which made it feel like more than just an ice-cream event. Overall, it was a fun, well-organised day out with great energy. Definitely worth attending if you’re looking for something different and enjoyable!"

"The ice cream tasting was just fabulous! Just WAY too much ice cream for one person. If I had a better idea of the portion size, I would've only bought one ticket for the three of us. Luckily there were people at our party without tickets, so I was able to share without wasting anything. The line to collect was long and in the sun on a scorcher of a day, but the ice cream was frozen solid. It was refreshing in the heat. The ice cream itself was lovely. I realise that it's a matter of personal taste, but I don't think that mac & cheese has any business in an ice cream. Enjoyed the slight peppery after taste though. All the other creamy flavours were very nice, but the vanilla, olive oil and sea salt was extremely salty. The vanilla was nowhere to be found, it was just salt left, right and centre with a hint of olive oil afterwards. Inedible really. Now for my favourites - pineapple and mint! Yum!!! The apricot, the aloe water and surprisingly the Redbull. All delicious! Loved the sorbets! All in all a great experience. If I encounter Bambini at a next event I will definitely be tasting again. Thank you for introducing my pallet to new ice cream flavours."
