Meet Mandi Vundla:

Vundla is known to many as the only two-time undefeated Word N Sound Poetry Slam Champion. She is the co-editor of the ground-breaking poetry anthology: "HomeIsWhereTheMIcIs" and a former member of the prolific Word N Sound Poetry Company. In 2017, Vundla curated South Africa's biggest international poetry festival; the world renowned 'Poetry Africa' and is currently the founder of 'The Poetry Zone ZA'. A platform that shines a light on the South African Poetry Landscape and celebrates the many platforms that have dedicated their poetry cells towards moving our industry forward. The platform creates innovative ways to transform poetry into a sustainable art-form while developing and coaching aspirant poets who seek to pursue a career in poetry.

In 2017, as a poetry-coach, Vundla ushered two junior poets to the U.S to showcase their work at The Brave New Voices Youth Poetry Festival. Her work is published in various anthologies such as '12+One; Art of Human Rights; Illuminations Magazine 32; Atlanta Review; The New Century of South African Poetry 3rd Edition. Vundla continues to travel the world, sharing her work and exploring the impact the ancient oral art has on shaping young developing voices.
In addition to her poetry works, Vundla is also the editor of the Actor spaces magazine and the founding member of the Africa Rising International Film Festival.
