guerillaclassics creates inspiring and spontaneous concert experiences in unique settings in public space. This pool of professional musicians brings classical music to a young and broad audience. Whether it comes to surprising commuters on their way to work with a dance performance accompanied by an opera singer or letting passersby conduct a symphony orchestra – they always try to find new ways to spark people’s interest in classical music. 2020 marks the beginning of a new chapter for guerillaclassics with a tour through South Africa and Switzerland.
The composers and musicians Neo Muyanga (South Africa) and Nik Bärtsch (Zurich) have composed music specifically for this tour (They wont be present and wont be performing the pieces themselves).
The musicians performing the music in South Africa include Cosmic Percussion Ensemble from Zurich, as well as viola player Sarah Evans and singer Nomapostile Nyiki, both from Cape Town. In Cape Town and Stellenbosch, singer and musician Lungiswa Plaatjies will additionally be joining the Swiss-South African music ensemble.
Ronan Skillen will be joining them for this specific event with us at Rootspring house.
