Thu Aug 29, 18:00 - Thu Aug 29, 20:30

Workshop17 Firestation (Rosebank)

ABOUT

"Success is the ability to go from one failure to another with no loss of enthusiasm" - Winston Churchill

This event is all RESILIENCE & we have three incredible speakers coming to share their stories and knowledge. AND it’s our BIRTHDAY event - so there will be cupcakes, gin, and a cocreation session to hear from you where you’d like Future Females Johannesburg to go!

?? Speaker 1: Sehaam Bateman, International Speaker

After losing her memory in 2011, Seeham had to rebuild her life, in the process having a change of career and learning what it really means to be resilient and keep moving forward.

She will be sharing her incredible story and how this life-altering moment led her to study with Dr. John Demartini and become the influential individual she is today.

?? Speaker 2: Shameelah Khan - documentary filmmaker

Shameelah works as lecturer for the Academic Department at AFDA University, Production Course in critical discourse. She is the co-director for the online arts magazine Odd Magazine, which specialises as an inter-arts-disciplinary magazine with a focus on poetry, fiction and non-fiction short stories, film, reviews, articles and photography.

Her work is premised around the inclusion of arts and humanities within Islamic-paradigms. Her goal for WOW is to create an open, safe and inclusionary platform for all women to have their voices heard. A large part of WOW is the capacity for change within communities around the restructuring and dismantling of patriarchy and misogyny as a means of discussing women’s rights in Islam through a means of Arts, academia and discourse.

?? Speaker 3: Cindy Laufs - Founder of Hustle Media

Cindy is not only Founder of a highly successful boutique media agency, but also the original ambassador for Future Females Johannesburg!

Hustle Media offers a host of specialised services and to date has delivered brand solutions for 26 brands in 3 years ranging from small to medium businesses to national companies and global brands. It might sound like a success story but Cindy suffers from acute anxiety and it has taken her most of her adult life to come to terms with it and conquer.

Her personal mission is to lift the shroud and mystery of anxiety and start an open dialogue about anxiety and how to thrive despite of it.

We will also be running a special birthday co-creation session so you can tell us what you want to see from the Johannesburg chapter over the next year.

We will also be announcing something BIG on the horizon for Future Females, so grab your ticket now to make sure you're the first to know about it!

Future Females Johannesburg is sponsored by Workshop17, Payfast and FNB. A big thank you to our sponsors for making this event possible.
