Taking place on Thursday the 13th & Friday the 14th of June from 6-9pm, this annual event has quickly become a firm favourite with Durban’s movers and shakers - consistently setting the bar higher when it comes to choice, exclusivity and downright fun.
Hosted at Durban’s world-class jazz bar, The Chairman, Wade Bales’ Wine & Malt Whisky Affair delivers the ultimate indulgence for wine enthusiasts and whisky lovers alike. From sought-after wines to rare malt whiskies from around the world, every guest will enjoy unlimited tastings in order to discover their favourite favourites.
“Hand selecting a combination of the best wines and rare malt whiskies available in SA, then showcasing them all under one roof, ensures our discerning guests enjoy an exceptional and sophisticated experience.” says Wade Bales, renowned wine and spirits negociant.
Staying true to the success of previous events, over 80 premium wines from South Africa’s finest wineries will be presented, including the likes of Bouchard Finlayson, Ernie Els, Mulderbosch and Tokara.
Whisky enthusiasts will also have the opportunity to discover over 90 Malt Whiskies from around the world. Look out for internationally renowned distillers such as: Bunnahabhain, Bruichladdich, Aberlour, Highland Park, Redbreast, Lagavulin and The Glenlivet.
During the course of the evening, guests can engage with winemakers and whisky ambassadors, finding out the backstory behind each beverage. Over and above unlimited tastings, guests can also feast from a famed food selection of gourmet cheeses, artisanal breads and antipasti.
Listen out for the Half-Time Bell too - a real highlight of the evening - when for just 15 minutes, guests can taste exclusive and limited editions of wine and whisky from “under the table”.
