Supporting bands:

- Ill System

Ill System‘s story on the South African circuit dates all the way back to 2001, when the band originally formed. The band's music is a hard-hitting politically charged mix of Groove Metal, Rock, Reggae and more recently Hip-Hop & Electronica. They also have a very unique African influence by leading many songs with Djembe and Bongo percussion.

In 2006, Ill System was living in Wales, UK, and participated in the international Emergenza battle of unsigned bands; finishing in first place out of nearly 1,000 acts from the UK alone, and in 18th position globally. When they returned to South Africa, they supported Protest The Hero & Fear Factory, and in 2017 released their praised single 'Holy War'. The band is currently working on their latest material, which is planned to be released in 2019.

- Treehouse Burning

Treehouse Burning is a 5-piece electronic metalcore/deathcore band from Cape Town, South Africa. Formed in late 2016, founding members Jesse Kuhn (guitar) and Nathan Schacht (vocals) set out to create something fresh and modern in a local scene dominated by death metal acts. In January 2017 their debut single ‘Ledger’ was released, and featured a guest vocal spot from Danny Bochkov (vocalist of Irish metalcore band Follow My Lead). Strong production quality paired with a growing social media presence gained the group a considerable amount of attention and praise from the local metal/rock scene, and within a couple months of launching their debut, the full live lineup was completed: Richard Poultney (bass), Gareth Ashton (guitar) and Joshua Haller (drums).

The group then began writing for their first EP, and partnered up with Matthew Mader (ex-Vulvodynia, Human Error) for production/mixing/mastering. After a couple single releases throughout 2017 they launched their debut EP, ‘Overdose’ in October, featuring guest vocal spots from Jonny McBee (vocalist of The Browning, ex-As Blood Runs Black) and Elizabeth Grace. The release and reception of the EP solidified their spot as a strong newcomer in the South African metal scene, as well as gaining listeners and attention from various countries overseas.

- Rhakshah

Rhakshah is a South African progressive technical death metal band from Cape Town. A project which got its foot off the ground in late 2015, led by former local promoter and MC turned frontman Nathan McClure. The line-up was finalized with the additions of creativity anomalies Justin Ross on lead guitar, Arno van Zyl on rhythm guitar, Jonathan Burgers on drums and Thariq Taladia on bass guitar. The charismatic hard hitting riffage and technical prowess of all members proved a perfect combination, creating a diversified sound that would later be solidified by their first full length release "The Solemn Fracture".

After much anticipation since its current formation, Rhakshah made it's live debut in the summer of 2017 at Aandklas Stellenbosch to the praise of local promoters. Following this was the release of their debut single "Regalia" which would build to their first high profile appearance on the Metal4Africa SummerFest'18 stage. After a 4 month writing break, Rhakshah announced they would be co-headlining the Necrogenesis National Tour with friends Creating the Godform during the summer of 2018.
