ABOUT

A TeachMeet is an organised but informal meeting (in the style of an unconference) for teachers to share good practice, practical innovations and personal insights in teaching. Presenters volunteer to demonstrate good practice they've delivered over the past year, or discuss a product that enhances classroom practice. TeachMeet events are open to all and do not charge an entry fee.

This is a chance for Primary & Secondary School Teachers, Librarians, Heads & IT Managers to exchange ideas and be inspired.

Each lesson will be presented twice in a designated classroom 3-3:40 pm & 3:50 – 4:30pm. Teachers and Heads can choose to attend any lesson for the session, on the day.

A 360°-degree expedition presented by Kathy Aitken - This is a fun, hands-on session where you will be using Google cardboard camera and a 360 degree camera with Google tour creator, to create your own virtual tour. Please bring a laptop, and a phone with Google Expeditions and the Google Cardboard Camera apps installed.

Being Creative with Photos presented by Tracy Heath - The lesson will demonstrate the use of the photos application and how to use this application for lessons. Teachers will have time to make a video on any topic that suits them. If they wish to make a specific video they will need to bring a selection of photos (10) or videos that they wish to use in their project as well as Windows 10 devices. Those who just want to “play” can download pictures during the lesson. Devices will be provided for those who do not have a portable or personal Windows 10 device.

ClassFlow presented by Karen Lindemann - ClassFlow is an interactive lesson delivery system that increases the depth of student and teacher engagement by providing the collaborative use of classroom devices, digital curriculum and assessments for learning. The lesson will be an overview of both the cloud based system and the DeskTop version using the Promethean ActivPanel. If teachers bring their laptops, they can follow on their own devices.

Flipgrid presented by Wendy Sauthoff - You will be introduced to the Flipgrid application and how it can be used in the classroom. This session combines the “theory” and practical aspects, and you will require a laptop or tablet that can access the internet. You will be making your own Flipgrid video so you will want to be “camera ready”. Please also make sure that you can read QR codes on either your device or a phone.

Microsoft Teams presented by Kevin Smart - Teams is a fantastic collaboration tool that makes managing and interacting with a class super easy. Discover how Teams allows for conversations and collaboration on group work. Remote lessons are possible through live video calling or uploaded videos, so you never have to worry about missing a lesson again.
