The comedian, formally (and informally), known as ‘Prins’ is the hottest South African breakthrough comedy act of 2016/2017 and a hard working comedian beyond. He has been active in comedy for a total of 7 years (with 5 years professional experience).
Prins has won several comedy competitions, including the Jokenation International Comedy Competition[1] which led to performances at the Montreux International Comedy Festival[2] in Switzerland and the Busan International Comedy Festival[3] in South Korea.
In 2016 Prins was nominated for 2 Savanna Comics Choice Awards[4], going on to win the Breakthrough Act of the year Award.[5] He was once more a nominee for the Intermediate Award in 2017.
Prins has shared the stage with South Africa’s comedy greats including Trevor Noah, Loyiso Gola, Barry Hilton, Marc Lottering, Kagiso Lediga, Mark Banks, John Vlismas and Chris Forrest amongst others. He is to be seen on stages all around South Africa doing club gigs, theatre shows, corporate and social events, and his one man show, with a few meaningful radio and television appearances.
Prins has produced and been cast of many successful shows at the National Arts Festival[6] and is currently planning to film and distribute his debut one man comedy show, ‘Unnecessary’.
Prins’ comedy material has been described as innovative, playful and funny for the whole family, naughty but nice, transcending gender, race, culture, religion and local & international borders.
