To show you the beauty of Islam we bring you an unique experience of a conference combining an international documentary called "FREEDOM" with international and local speakers.
The "FREEDOM" DOCUMENTARY by HALIS MEDIA
FREEDOM is a spiritual and emotional documentary film featuring 50 converts from 25 different nationalities over 6 continents in 15 languages. In the wake of a global rise of anti-Muslim sentiments, Film Directors Julien Drolon and Zara Shafie are giving a voice to a global community of converts during a crucial time when Islam needs to be more understood and appreciated as a religion that is protecting the rights and dignity of every human being. The documentary features 25 men and 25 women from different racial backgrounds from countries like Sri Lanka, Peru, China, Columbia, the USA, Kenya, England, India. It features an engineer, a teacher, a lawyer, an actor, an environmentalist, a marriage counselor... - all of them speaking from the very depths of their soul about their perspectives on Freedom and Islam. The film is truly eye-opening and very informative for non-Muslims and for the born Muslims it is spiritually uplifting and encourage them to be consistent in reminding themselves of the main purpose in life.
You’d think a documentary featuring one talking head after the other would be monotonous. This is anything but. It is engaging and riveting and the beautiful sounds of well-known verses from the Quran, as well as the Adhaan and some soulful Zain Bhikha songs (including one in isiZulu) coupled with stunning imagery of masjids and nature pleasantly popped up every now and then, giving the viewer an opportunity to reflect on what was said.

Samuel Shropshire (USA)
Samuel Shropshire has more than 30-years’ experience as a founder, CEO, and director for business, education and non-government organizations (NGOs). A passionate and effective speaker, Mr. Shropshire has made countless motivational and educational presentations and speeches before government entities, NGOs, businesses, university audiences and civic organizations.
He has worked for change, successfully lobbying the U.S. Congress, the Canadian and British Parliaments and the United Nations. He has been on foreign and state policy teams that introduced bills to U.S. congressional and state legislative committees. An avid writer and motivator, Shropshire has been an active leader in the Annapolis, Maryland USA, community. His work on the subject was published widely in the US (e.g. The New York Times, Time Magazine, CNN News, NBC News, etc.) and in various foreign publications and televised news media.
Shropshire has been a resident of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia since December 2011. During his stay in Saudi Arabia he became a follower of Islam and now lectures in schools (in the KSA and abroad) about his journey to Islam as well as God’s desire for people of all faiths to love and care for His creation. He says, “Promoting environmental sustainability is the very best way to protect God’s creation. The nature around us is testimony to God’s awesome love for humankind. If we do not act immediately to protect the environment the result will be disastrous for future generations.”
In 2014 Shropshire founded Muslim Voice for Peace & Reconciliation (MVPR) based in Washington, DC USA, an international NGO promoting human rights and peacemaking (www.mvpr.org). Shropshire is available for speaking engagements worldwide. He welcomes the opportunity to meet with future world leaders and peacemakers and conducts “peace training seminars” worldwide
Dr. Yusuf Abdul- Jobbar Torofdar (UK)
Dr. Yusuf Abdul- Jobbar Torofdar is currently a Lecturer and Program Director at the College of the Prophet’s (peace be upon him) Mosque, Masjid An-Nabawi, Madinah, Saudi Arabia. Also, he is Head of Programs at the world famous Islamic University of Madinah, Saudi Arabia (position held for over 5 years). He is an experienced senior executive specializing in Islamic Finance and Leadership. He is a Certified Sharia’h Advisor & Auditor who has authored books, written journal articles, hosted, moderated and presented at many conferences around the world. Furthermore, he has been serving the field of training and education for over 15 years.
In addition to his core expertise, he is a successful entrepreneur who has established businesses globally.
