ABOUT
The Intro:The inaugural SouthYeasters Homebrew Club Craft Beer tour will be visiting 3 exciting breweries in the Franschhoek area.
Participants on the tour will be transported by bus between the 3 breweries, where you will receive tasters as well a tour of each brewery. The bus will start off in Cape Town where you will be picked up at one of 3 pickup points. (Southern Suburbs: Banana Jam Cafe, Central:Sable Square, Northern Suburbs:Tyger Valley) We will then travel to the 3 breweries where we will have tasters and a brewery tour. In the afternoon the bus will return to the 3 locations to drop you off.

Tuk Tuk:
At Tuk Tuk, Dewald, the head brewer will do the tour himself, and you will get to sample some of his seasonal or limited-edition brews right from the fermenters in the brewery. He will also answer any questions you may have about his brewing style or the brewery. (This is a rare opportunity that is not to be missed, Dewald does not normally do the tours himself, and is not normally at the brewery over weekends. He has agreed to come to the brewery specially to do the tour for SouthYeasters on Saturday morning.)
Soul Barrel:
At Soul Barrel, Nick the owner and brewer will take on a detailed tour of his unusual brewery built inside old concrete wine storage tanks. He will also give us a rundown on his wild fermentation and barrel aging processes. Nick is really thinking outside the box when he designs his recipes and has beers on offer unlike anything else you will find in South Africa.
Lilypatrick:
Lilypatrick is a small up and coming brewery who are rapidly expanding their foot print. You may not find their beers at your local, but that could change soon. Braam has recently taken over the brewing at Lilypatrick and is currently putting in a lot of effort to develop their recipes and get them fine-tuned. He will open the tasing room specially for us and will personally pour us tasters while he gives us a rundown of the beers and the brewery.
Tickets cost R400 per person.

(All members should have received a promotional discount code in their email which they can use to get the special member discount. If you have note received your discount code, please contact the SouthYeasters Committee. Please remember that this discount code is only available to use on members tickets and cannot be used to purchase tickets for non paid-up members)
The cost of the ticket includes the bus transport, a tasting tray and the tour at each brewery. Any additional beers or food purchased at the breweries over and about this will be for your own account.
PLEASE NOTE: In order for this event to go ahead, we need to sell a minimum number of tickets to make the bus transport viable. In the unlikely event that we do not reach this number, the event will be cancelled, and your ticket refunded less the Quicket Processing fee which is not refundable.
