Mail & Guardian Corporate Governance - ethics & compliance to prevent corruption

Tue Mar 13, 08:30 - Tue Mar 13, 16:00

FNB Conference Centre

ABOUT

Recent development and the spate of corporate failures (African Bank, KPMG, Steinhoff and state-owned enterprises) in South Africa have demonstrated the urgency to re-examine and discuss solutions for the seriousness of deteriorating levels of governance in both private and public sectors.

This is a wake-up call for businesses, government, leaders and company directors. What are the lessons learned and how do we move forward to ensure such failures do not repeat themselves?

With this in mind, Mail & Guardian (M&G) will host a timely conference – “Corporate Governance – ethics & compliance to prevent corruption” to unpack issues such as:
  • How can businesses and government ensure ethical leadership, good governance and accountability?
  • How can directors, management and executives play a key role in mastering effective corporate governance to combat corruption?
  • What are the expected roles and responsibilities of directors and officers?
  • What are the best practices for ethical leadership, internal controls and compliance?
  • What are the strategy, risk governance and risk management?
