AAE Covid-19 Relief Fund

AAE (African Authentic Experience) is a newly established tour operator in Cape Town, which specialises in providing local and international tourist with custom experiences in and around Cape Town (as well as Southern Africa). As per our name, we pride ourselves on sharing an authentic experience with our guests, allowing them to see, feel, hear and smell the past and present of Cape Town. Cape Towns townships play vital role in our experiences, as they are a true reflection of Cape Town – it’s often an eye opening experience for our guests, as this is not the Cape Town that they see in the media or on tours. The Cape Townians in these townships open their homes and hearts to the guests, which has resulted in creating strong and meaningful relationships with the AAE team. Through these relationships and the growth of our business, we have been able to identify and establish relationships with key people in the respective communities. Now with the Covid-19 pandemic that has hit South Africa, it is these very people – the ones that open their homes and hearts to us and the ones that have assisted us in the township that are hit the hardest with the national lockdown. As these are the people that provide our guests with an authentic experience, we felt the need to help them by giving back. Through various links and relationships we were able to directly donate food parcels to communities in Langa and Khayelitsha township. When creating these parcels, our main objective was to ensure that we provide parcels that 1) Last longer than a week 2) Able to feed a household of 4 3) Must consist of essentials
