About
2020 This fundraiser is closed!
The Saartjie Baartman Centre for Women and Children recently suffered a devastating fire so we decided to run this fundraiser during Women's Month to assist.
AIMS:
- to raise funds in order to provide much needed essentials to the Saartjie Baartman Centre.
- to promote small businesses, most of whom are struggling during this pandemic.
HOW:
Donate on this page. Proceeds go towards essentials for the women and kids of the centre and other safe houses for abused and abandoned children.
Every donation of more than R50 gets an entry into our luck draw to win awesome prizes sponsored by small businesses.
PRIZES:
To show our gratitude and to acknowledge our sponsors, we will do a random lucky draw at the end of this campaign.
Prizes and sponsors are shared on our Facebook Event Page: 'African Secret Cares' : https://www.facebook.com/events/3174957629267708/?active_tab=discussion

About the Saartjie Baartman Centre for Women and Children:
"The Saartjie Baartman Centre for Women and Children (SBCWC) was opened in 1999 in response to the high rates of violence against women and children on the Cape Flats near Cape Town. We provide essential, cost-free services 365 days a year to abused women and children employing a comprehensive range of services for the effective treatment and prevention of violence against women and children. We were the first ‘one-stop’ centre in South Africa.
Some of the services provided are managed directly by the Saartjie Baartman Centre. These include a 24-hour crisis response programme; a residential shelter programme and transitional housing for abused women and their children; a psycho-social support programme including a children’s counselling programme; a substance abuse programme and accredited job-skills training programmes for our clients.
The vision of the SBCWC is the creation of a safe and secure society within a human rights culture, where women and children are empowered and live in a violence-free society."
