Garden Route Events and Entertainment Fund

Hi,

If you are reading this it means that you care about what happens to the live entertainment and music industry. Not only in the Garden Route but also South Africa. As a small business owner in the Garden Route who have had numerous event cancellations due to COVID-19 we are facing so many uncertainties. 

We pride ourselves as leaders in our industry who have done everything we can to keep our staff and our doors open. Sometimes that is just not enough. The thing is we are not alone in this. It is not only us who are suffering under the weight of lockdown. It is our staff, our freelancers and our local artists who are hardest hit. This is why we have decided that we will take a stand on behalf of them. If we can get through this and I believe we will, we will be able to help them as well.

This is why we have created a fund called the Garden Route Events and Entertainment Fund. We want to save our company, our staff, our freelancers so that the events and entertainment industry can be saved in the Garden Route.

What have we done so far?

We have supported all our staff and freelancers during this time.

We have hosted a free online show called "Liefde in jou sitkamer" where we collaborated with artists across the country in the attempt to raise donations for them.

We have created a platform where local artists can perform live. We call it Sound Check Sessions. We there give the opportunity where the public can donate to the artist. 

How you can help?

We have decided with restrictions lifted that it is time for us to step up once again. We want to give back more to the community. So the funds raised in this fundraiser will be used as follow:

Help pay our staff and freelancers.

Help pay the artists who play on Sound Check Sessions.

Help with food parcels to those worse affected by lockdown.

I know that when we stand together we can make a bigger difference together. So please support us in doing this.
