Learn how to become a Property Developer: Session 1


EPiC South Africa, in collaboration with three Property Development experts will be offering a series of 12 episodes via online webcast, going through, in detail, the Property Development process.


Francois Genis, an Architect by training and Property Developer, will share insights from the Developers perspective. Francois will be discussing Deal Evaluation, commercial agreements, Due Diligence and Planning Approval, Marketing and Presales and finally, Proceeding with the Development.


Raazik Nordien, Principal at UF Architects, has years of experience working with developers from initial stages of development deal assessment right through to the final product. Raazik will be covering the professional team and building process, go through a Property Owners Check List and Property Fact sheet used to assess an opportunity, Zoning Regulations, Professional Team due diligence, and finally go through a case study defining development rights and assessing the development potential of a property.


Andre van Zyl, Director at VZ Law and Attorney, has extensive experience working with Developers in terms of structuring and legal agreements. Andre will cover important aspects of purchase agreements, important clauses in end user agreements and the correct legal structures for a Developer.


The 12 Episodes will be in the following order, starting Saturday 2 May and will be every Saturday and Sunday at 13:00 to 14:15, for six weeks.

  3. Property owners check list and the property fact sheet
  4. Deal Evaluation and Commercial Agreement
  5. Zoning regulations and Development rights explained
  6. Prof Team Due diligence and the feasibility study
  7. Developer Due Diligence and Planning Approval
  8. Case study – Defining the development rights and testing the potential of a property
  9. Important aspects and clauses in end user agreements
  10. Marketing, Presales and Financing
  11. Proceed with Development, Construction and close out
  12. The correct commercial & legal structure for a developer


Each Episode will be held via Zoom where delegates will be able to ask questions and interact with our Expert Presenters. Beyond the education, the series gives delegates the opportunity to build their professional team for future development opportunities.


You are able to pay for all 12 episodes for R 1,950 or per session @ R 225 each.
