The Trio is a new dynamic fusion band made up of three of Cape Town’s finest young musicians. With heavy influences from African jazz legends like Jimmy Dludlu and fusion pioneers like Chon, the Trio’s original songs have an authentic African Jazz fusion feel while still being a completely new, unique sound in South Africa.

The Trio’s energetic performance and new sound will leave you inspired and alive with the joy of music, and their ground-breaking live shows are a breath of fresh air not to be missed.

About the Members Chante Phillips started playing the drums at the tender age of six years old when she drew inspiration from the drummer at her local Church in Althone, and since then her incredible skill has had her share stages with renowned acts such as Zolani Mahola (Freshly Ground) and Frank Paco. She hopes to inspire and build a future for aspiring young female musicians in the music industry.

Chadley Beukes, known fondly to the Cape Town music scene as Bassface, has been the resident groovemaster for great artists such as Jitsvinger, Patricia Elizabeth, Camillo Lombard, Mark Williams and many more, and is known for his explosive stage presence and smooth grooves on the bass guitar. His current aspiration is so release an EP of original compositions in the styles and feels that drew him to playing the bass guitar.

Kara Snethlage is an electric guitar player from the Northern Cape. She is a student of highly acclaimed session guitarist and composer Allou April and currently specializes in funk, fingerstyle and fusion styles while broadening her horizons in African jazz and traditional African styles as both a soloist musician and composer. Her goal is to master all styles of music on an international level.
