Berkeley Center on Comparative Equality & Anti-Discrimination Law Annual Conference 2020

Sun Jun 13, 09:00 - Tue Jun 15, 19:00

Wilfred & Jules Kramer Law Building

ABOUT

Focus: Diversity and Inclusivity: A lens on Africa, Birthplace of Humanity

A priority of the meeting will be the development of partnerships between anti-discrimination law scholars in Africa and in the global north and global south countries. We anticipate inviting up to 100 participants, many of whom will be from our partner institutions on the African continent and we are delighted that many global experts in the field have indicated their intention to attend and participate.

Intersectionality will be a cross-cutting theme of the conference, and in addition to more general anti-discrimination law topics, we expect to organize the parallel sessions along the following four sub-themes:

  • Gender and sexual identity
  • Racism and xenophobia
  • Disability
  • Pay equity
