Ancient voices is an ensemble of African Indigenous instruments formed by a group of musicians who felt the obligation to preserve African music and its educational element. The ensemble was formed in 2014 after a very successful tour in the Netherlands(BOS THEATERPRODUCTIE) The ensemble comprises of different musicians from different musical backgrounds who have graced our African shores and the international community namely; Xoliswa Tom (Afrika Festival 2017/18)
Lungiswa Plaatjies Kora award and South African Music Awards nominee 2004), Nontuthuzelo Nyiki and Nomapostile Nyiki (South African Road trip, Vocal trainer at the University of Cape Town SACM (South African HIV ambassador, Mama Africa Musical). The use of Uhadi, Mbira, Kayombe, Umrhubhe, Vocals and Percussion explains the negative and positive events that are present in our
everyday lives. Some of the members are teachers with the mission mentioned above (Preserve African music elements). The musicians compose their own music and also play African folk songs with arrangements that accommodates a vast audience.
