Practicing with a teacher is important for continuous guidance, support and inspiration. But as we progress on our yoga path, it becomes equally as important to develop and nurture a quiet, unguided self-practice where we get to explore the more subtle layers of our being and experience a deeper, more contemplative side of yoga.
If you are looking to develop a self-practice but don’t know how to get started or struggle to stay committed to a routine, this 3 week course might be for you!
You will learn:
- A set sequence of postures based on the traditional Ashtanga Primary Series which forms the basis of most forms of modern yoga. We will start with an exploration of Sun Salutations A & B and from there move on to some foundational standing postures, seated forward bends, twists, accessible back bends and inversions.
- Various breathing techniques (Pranayama) focused on regulating the nervous-system and stilling the mind in preparation for meditation
- Mindfulness meditation and metta practice
The aim of this course is to inspire you to establish a self-practice routine that is sustainable and will be a joy to come back to day after day.
