Heart Kids South Africa's Annual 5km Congenital Heart Defect Awareness March

ABOUT

Heart Kids South Africa is a Non-Profit Organisation which was founded by families and friends of babies born with congenital heart defects.

Congenital means present at birth. A heart defect means that a baby’s heart is either deformed in some or other way and/or it doesn’t function as a normal heart. A CHD could affect anyone, anywhere and at any time.

With February being heart month and 7 to 14 February being International Congenital Heart Defect ("CHD") Awareness Week, Heart Kids South Africa is focused on creating awareness for babies born with a CHD.
