Veteran journalists and authors Jonathan Ancer (Betrayal: The Secret Lives of Apartheid Spies) and Chris Whitfield (Paper Tiger) will present their new books and discuss the political and commercial threats against press freedom in South Africa and their influence on democracy.
The salon will be moderated by Gill Moodie, publisher at Tafelberg. Moodie published The President’s Keepers, one of the biggest-selling books in South Africa’s history and which won the prestigious 2019 Jeri Laber International Freedom to Publish Award given annually by the Association of American Publishers.
