ABOUT

Tshwane Youth Leadership Talk (TYLT) is a programme of Agape Youth Movement (AYM). TYLT is a dialogue with youth leaders, a platform to discuss youth leadership with a special focus on youth development. This programme aims to capacitate the youth, within institutions of learning, with elements of leadership. The youth needs consciousness of the struggle of their generation. TYLT in partnership with National Library of South Africa (NLSA) and the City of Tshwane (COT) this youth month will host a special seminar for young leaders in various structures.

The programme will feature a keynote address by the Deputy Minister in the Presidency responsible for Planning Monitoring and Evaluation – Honourable Buti Manamela, the executive mayor of the City of Tshwane – Cllr Kgosietso Ramokgopa, CEO and National Librarian: Professor MD Rocky Ralebipi-Simela, the founder of Kara Heritage Institute – Dr Mathole Motshekga and two panel discussion sessions with a good combination of industry experts, media personalities and academics to tackle issues affecting leaders and how to pave way for a new breed of thought leaders in South Africa.

Coupled with the Tshwane Youth Leadership Talk, our leaders Abuti Rams (President) and Tshepang Pule (Deputy President) will be launching their much anticipated book titled “Beyond Inspiration”. Beyond Inspiration is a book aimed at activating leadership and highest level of human potential. The book covers a variety of subjects sequentially crafted to help young leaders to live significant lives, because “success is not enough, you need to move beyond inspiration.”

Beyond Inspiration looks into the root causes of demotivation and failures leaders face to attain success and maximize impact. It further examines and unpacks the innate potential of every human being which are covered in chapters such as Identity, Power of Vision and more.

First panel discussion will focus on "The state of youth leadership in South Africa", panellists will include Lesego Makhubela (ANCYL Chairperson in City of Tshwane), Khulekani Skosana (Secretary General: COSAS), Zukiswa Ncunyana (SED: City of Tshwane's - Research & Innovation) and Tebogo Sebolai (Board Member: City of Tshwane's Youth Development Unit), Ndumiso Hadebe (2013 Winner of One day leader season 2).

The second panel discussion of Youth Thought Leadership coupled with a book review of Beyond Inspiration. The speakers include Abuti Rams (Thought leader & president of AYM), Tshepang Pule (Thought leader and deputy president of AYM), Sanele Zulu (author, inspirational speaker and entrepreneur), Mandla Matyumza (CEO of NLSA – Centre of the Book) and Nonhlanhla Mnisi (Author, Speaker and Producer).
