The global sensation Sing-Along Sound of Music is coming to the big screen at the Montecasino Teatro for the first time in South Africa.

This iconic masterpiece held the record for the best selling musical of all time for many years and is based on a true and story of the Von Trapp Family singers, one of the world’s best-known concert groups in the era immediately preceding World War II. Maria (Julie Andrews) becomes a governess in the home of a widowed naval captain with seven children and brings a new love of life and music into the home.

The Sing-Along version of this oscar-winning classic has been entertaining crowds around the globe for years and even has an annual sell-out show at the 17,500 seat Hollywood bowl.

This is so much more than a movie screening. Sing-A-Long Sound of Music is a fantastically fun night out that includes a costume parade before the show with prizes, followed by the screening with song lyrics so everyone can sing-a-long, and of course, get involved with the story. It is not uncommon for crowds to boo the baddies, and cheer on Maria so come prepared for an entertaining evening at the Teatro.

A live entertainer performs on stage before the screening to help the audience warm-up and seats and shows are limited so book in advance to avoid disappointment!.
