BACKGROUND

Bushfire is more than a festival, it’s a living, breathing ecosystem deeply rooted in African soil, yet inclusive and welcoming to guests from all over the world. This uniquely African, and yet globally infused festival experience welcomes 26,000 thousand attendees in an atmosphere of tolerance and passionate commitment to music, the arts and the environment.

CAMP INCLUSIONS

Our vehicle and camp set up is well equipped.

DAY 1 - Friday 29 May

7AM DEPART FOR SWAZILAND

Swaziland, a small, landlocked monarchy in southern Africa, is known for its wilderness reserves and festivals showcasing traditional Swazi culture. Marking its northeastern border with Mozambique and stretching down to South Africa, the Lebombo Mountains are a backdrop for Mlawula Nature Reserve’s many hiking trails. Nearby Hlane Royal National Park is home to diverse wildlife including lions, hippos and elephants.

Wake up early for a 7am departure. We will provide an on-the-go breakfast. Hop onto our vehicle designed for African overland adventures. Imagine road tripping across the country while African music is playing, taking in the landscape as it changes. The journey can take up to 8 hours depending on how busy the border crossing is into Swaziland. Many stops are made for toilet, and food breaks... not to mention photo opportunities. 

ARRIVAL & CAMP SET UP

We will provide you with all the camping equipment needed for a seamless experience. Tents, chairs, camp beds and much more. Custom built safari dome tents can comfortably accommodate two guests. The tents are made of durable canvas and have mosquito netting already built in.

This is a participation camping experience where guests are expected to set up their tent (between two people). Set up takes approximately 45 minutes. Head into the festival after!

DAY 2 Saturday 30 May

• General breakfast cooked including eggs, bread, cereal, coffee, juice etc.
• Lunch and dinner at your own expense. There are delicious Africa food stalls in the festival for you to enjoy!
• You are free to use the kitchen equipment inside the truck to cook food

DAY 3 Sunday 31 May

• General breakfast cooked including eggs, bread, cereal, coffee, juice etc.
• Lunch and dinner at your own expense. There are delicious Africa food stalls in the festival for you to enjoy!
• You are free to use the kitchen equipment inside the truck to cook food

DAY 4 Monday 01 June

• Breakfast included
• Departure time is scheduled for approx 10am to return to Joburg
• All festival goers must participate and help in packing-up the campsite
