Smart Contradictions
In the spirit of “Ideas Worth Spreading,” TEDx Vanderbijlpark is part of a revolution that will enable its communities, schools, businesses, libraries and other individuals to enjoy a TED- like experience through events it will host.
The TEDxVanderbijlpark event will be hosted at North West University Vaal Campus and it will feature TED Talks videos, original speakers and live entertainment. Organised along the theme of 'Smart Contradictions', the conference will feature 8 of some of our countries leading thinkers, innovators, artists, philosophers and entertainers representing such diverse fields as technology, entertainment, visual and performance art, design, and education, among others.
Our world is evolving at a rapid pace. With digitalization and now augmented reality initiatives and inventions it is easy to look at our country and community as lagging behind. However there are those who are forward thinking and active in this country, there are great strides being made. We chose the theme, Smart Contradictions, so as to remind ourselves of the unearthed wisdoms that are there, to hear and refocus on those ideas worth sharing stemming from our challenges and socio-economic environments, some of them tapping into new technology and the digital world.
