About the event:

Would you like to know how to run your sustainable garden in one hour? This workshop is for you! Xola Keswa, a green ranger from Oranjezicht City Farm and Market Day will share his knowledges on how to manage your own garden in a sustainable way.


This workshop will cover :

30 minutes of presentation :

- Introduction of urban food garden

- Presentation of all the plant species

- How and when to water the plants

- Explanation on how integrate pest management

- Why do we need bokashi and worms farm?


30 minutes of activities :

- Plant seeds into seed trays

- Vertical garden


Who is Xola?

Xola is driven by his curiosity, Xola learnt a lot by himself and by spending time in his Granny’s garden. After exploring on his own, he studied Primary Agriculture and completed a Permaculture Design Course with Food & Trees for Africa. Passionate about nature and outdoors, Xola rebelled against the mainstream commercial practices and, through his workshops, tries to promote a better and more natural way to grow plants and food, in a sustainable way, without chemicals or machines.
