Story Sessions: The Last Country
Story Sessions in partnership with the Urban Futures Centre (DUT) on 26 November 2019 will be bringing you The Last Country. This extraordinarily moving theatre production by award-winning Durban theatre-makers Mpume Mthombeni and Neil Coppen is based on the real life stories of migrant women living in Durban.
It is an immersive 50-minute performance which incorporates over 30 oral histories collected as part of a larger Urban Future Centre, Democracy Development Programme and ASONET’s research and advocacy project titled Migration and the Inclusive City (funded by the Cities Alliance).
Described previously by the Mercury newspaper as “astonishing, moving and profoundly brilliant” after the 2018 performances, we are so excited to bring you the opportunity to experience this play with the original cast on the 26th of November at 7pm at the Courtyard Theatre at DUT.
Tickets are free as always for our public sessions. Please note that there will be limited space available for this performance, so book your tickets now to avoid disappointment!
