Shereketo - a rope bondage performance

Wed Dec 11, 20:45 - Wed Dec 11, 22:30

The Raptor Room

ABOUT

Join us for a rope bondage performance by Tswana Hippie and Sunga Konji as they explore how we all relate to intimacy and empowerment through our cultural and identity politics. How we often relegate our innermost desires beneath our allegiance to our constructed tribes and exist in the world at the mercy of others perception of, and expectation from us.

The performance will run for an hour from 21h15 until 22h15

If you would like to get a flavour of what the performance might be like, check out this short film by Ithongo Musings, Etana Patriot and Sunga Konji.

Important considerations for attendees:

The doors will be closed at 21h10 so as to not disrupt the performances. Out of respect for yourself and everyone else's time, arrive before this time. This door policy will be strictly adhered to and if you're late you forfeit your ticket and will not be refunded.

This is strictly an 18+ event, as it explores themes of an adult nature and contains partial nudity.

No photography will be permitted, except by official event photographers.

The performers require silence - chatting/heckling/commenting is disrespectful and disruptive and you will be asked to leave.

This is an incredibly vulnerable style of performance, and incredibly intimate. Please respect the space and everyone's experience.

Rope bondage, whether floor-work or suspension has inherent risks and responsibilities. The performers have adequately prepared for this and have discussed matters of consent, happiness and pleasure around the experience.

If you would like to learn how to do this safely, please contact us after the event for more information, but do not try these acts on your own without training.

The performers might require some space after their performance to decompress. Please give them the necessary space and allow them to re-enter the social realm when they are ready.
