Compendium of the Carol
Fri Dec 20, 20:00 - Fri Dec 20, 22:00
St. Paul's Church, Rondebosch
ABOUT
Here Be Dragons is presenting a concert of carols at St Paul's Church in Rondebosch on Friday, the 20th of December. True to style they are turning the subject on it's head: instead of a commercially popular programme, this is a concert of obscure and lesser known Christmas carols, some of which you might even know from quite a different context. There will however be one or two well known Christmas favourites mixed in, and for those audience participation is encouraged! After all, what is a Christmas concert without some carolling... Also, join us for a complimentary glass of wine afterwards in the church hall.
Here Be Dragons is an early music ensemble that specialises in performing period music in a folk idiom. They have performed at festivals such as the Stellenbosch Woordfees and the Greyton/Genadendal Classics for All festival, and recently returned for a second year to the Cape Town Baroque Festival, where they gave a sold out performance of the show Folk101 at the Youngblood Art Gallery: you can read the review here.
