Loud Music Presents, in association with Wired for Sound - ONE NIGHT ONLY: two of South Africa’s most accomplished guitar players perform together at the Long Street Slave Church, a place not only of historical significance, but also renowned for its beautiful acoustics.
In 2019 alone, between them Derek and Guy have performed sold out shows in America, France, Switzerland, Russia, Australia, Canada, Belgium, Brazil, Portugal and India - and now they come together for a very special once-off performance in Cape Town.
No strangers to musical partnership, both musician’s album releases this year are collaborative: Guy Buttery has just put out Nadi: a World-Folk crossover album uncovering newfound musical territories with Indian classical musician Dr. Kanada Narahari, and Derek Gripper’s “symbiotic and synergetic” Saturday Morning in Boston is an album recorded with celebrated American Cellist and Composer Mike Block. Both albums are available now on bandcamp.
