Within one of Cape Town’s hidden historic gems, a 180-year-old working watermill, Josephine Mill presents an intimate fine dining music experience featuring Derek Gripper.
From performing solo shows at Carnegie Hall and London’s Shakespeare’s Globe to other prestigious stages across Europe, Australia, India and USA, Derek Gripper is one of South Africa’s finest musicians. With a background in Western classical music and a passion for West African Kora, Derek has transcribed note-for-note the complex compositions of Malian kora players such as Toumani Diabaté and found extraordinary ways of playing them on a six-string guitar. His beautiful and complex compositions are simply sublime.
Join us as we embark on a food and musical journey within our venerable red brick mill.
