As we move towards the end of the year and everyone feels the need to relax and unwind, or as some begin to think about the new year and plan new goals and new ideals for their lives, such as better health...


Join this unique open-to-all outdoor yoga event for all levels and all ages and for every kind of person there is, in a beautiful green setting to rejuvenate the senses in a friendly, judgement-free and encouraging environment!


If you haven't done yoga before, this is your chance to learn all about what exactly yoga is from trained professionals who live yoga without committing to a long-term class or gym membership.


If you've got yoga experience, then come practice your poses under professional guidance and learn from dedicated, knowledgeable instructors.


Even if you're a pro, this is a priceless opportunity for you to enjoy the energy of a class outside in stunning natural surroundings!


No matter what your level of expertise, bring your mat, get a bit of fresh air and meet like-minded locals at this super fun event!


Program for the day:


  • At 9am: Welcoming and brief chat about what yoga is and where it comes from (approximately 10 minutes)
  • Brief demonstration of basic poses, including an explanation on their proper form (approximately 15 minutes)
  • Warm up sequence (10 minutes)
  • Yoga class, conducted as a great big group, with properly qualified yoga professionals to monitor, correct and help (approximately 50 minutes, including cool down)
  • Break, with the opportunity to buy refreshments of your choice from the various surrounding establishments (about 20 to 25 minutes, then back to yoga mats!)
  • Brief chat to introduce meditation, including a discussion about negative thoughts and how to weed them from your mind (10 to 15 minutes)
  • Guided WALKING meditation for positivity and rejuvenation (approximately 20 minutes)
  • Restorative yoga session - relaxing poses done whilst lying down on the mat - very peaceful and slow and with stretches to aid recovery and relieve stress - this part is great, sometimes people even fall asleep!! (20 minutes)
  • Estimated end time: 12pm

ASSEMBLY POINT:


  • The greens outside Paardevlei Rising (opposite the Cheetah Sanctuary). The walking meditation will take place on the route around the dam, and it's a good idea that you wear shoes for this part!

  • Your yoga mat (or a towel)
  • Water (also available to purchase from the surrounding coffee shops)
  • Shoes!
