ABOUT

Professional speakers create content, share ideas, write books, craft models. When we are selling our ideas, how do we protect our intellectual property? And how do we respect the IP of other content creators?

Roy Taberer will lead us through this conversation.

Roy Taberer is both an admitted attorney and patent attorney with over fifteen years’ experience in intellectual property law (patents, trademarks, registered designs, and copyright) as well as commercial drafting, contracts, and franchise law. His IP experience is wide-ranging including industrial and mining, pharmaceuticals, technology and a variety of SMMEs and start-ups. Roy holds an LLB degree and a BSc degree in Chemistry and Cellular Biology. He is also a CEDR-accredited mediator.

Roy has spoken at numerous conferences and gatherings on intellectual property law and patent law. He has been a guest on radio programs and podcasts, and has had articles published in this field.

Roy is a member of SAIIPL (South African Institute of Intellectual Property Law) and the South African group of AIPPI (International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property).
