ABOUT

The event aims to raise money for one of the most influential and iconic African philosophers of the 21st century, Bab’Credo Vusamazulu Mutwa. His writings and story-telling have moved thousands all over the world. He is a well-known as an author of books such as The Zulu Shaman and Indaba My Children that draw upon African mythology, Traditional folklore and Indigenous wisdom. However terrible news have recently surfaced about the saddening state of his living conditions. We saw it upon ourselves as artists to help a man who has helped many of us find our way home back to ourselves and whose philosophy has not only shed light on the magnitude of African Knowledge, but has also demonstrated the power of it.The #ProtectAfricanPhilosophers is a unique art exhibition, which is cantered around the protection of African indigenous knowledge as well as the custodians of this knowledge, such as Bab’Credo Mutwa. Please note that this is a wonderful platform for artists, both emerging and established to stand up for those who have come before us and help in paving the way for a collaborative thinking, that will create a cultural shift for future generations within the arts in Africa. All the money raised from the event will be given to the Mutwa Family to help fix their house as well as buy Bab'Credo Mutwa a hospital bed.
