ABOUT
The moment I stepped into Nonceba, I knew there was something special about it. The social justice non-profit organisation is filled with love and magic and upon meeting the operations managers, it was clear that it is being run by angels on earth.
Nonceba was founded because there was nowhere in Khayelitsha for children to go who had been sexually abused and is still the only organisation of its kind in the area.
The organisation has developed several programmes focusing on both victim support and prevention of abuse all with a unified purpose; to reduce the levels of child sexual abuse; to provide support to those who have been abused and their families and to promote the prevention of abuse through education.
I will be running the New York Marathon on November 3rd for Nonceba and am hosting the Cape Town Rooftop Cocktail Party to raise funds for the organisation, to raise awareness around gender-based violence in South Africa and for the incredibly important work that this organisation does in our community.
100% of the ticket and auction proceeds from this event will be donated to Nonceba Family Counselling Centre.
