ABOUT

'Compassion In Action 'International Peace Lecture 2019'

In light of current headlines of violence and injustice, join us for an evening with Nobel Peace Laureate Jody William and other leaders focused on the achievable dimensions of peace. Jody Williams, who won the Nobel Peace Prize for her work to ban landmines, will explore how peace comes from true human security - not military security - and is achieved through sustainable development, environmental justice, protecting human rights, and meeting people’s basic needs. Dr. Kate Cumbo from the international PeaceJam Foundation will explore the role of peace education in creating peaceful communities, Tarisai Mchuchu-MacMillan from Mosaic Training Services & Healing Centre for Women and Euodia Samson from Fusion Worx will explore the role of mental health and ending violence against women as essential to creating peace, and Brian Kelly, entrepeneur and CEO of The Points Guy will explore the role of business and business leaders in the creation of peace.
