ABOUT

It’s BOOKCHELLA! Chapter II! The second instalment of our close concert series to raise funds for the TH Children’s new literacy project in Kayamandi. All profits from the event go to the maintenance of Ikaya Primary School’s library and the funding of their book club.

The event begins with an afternoon market from 16:00 until 19:00. Come get some thrift items from The Second Opp shop among other vendors. Or just cool with a beer and listen to the vinyl collection of DJ Phanny among others.

The live acts will be begin from 20:00.

Beers will be provided by the Urban Brewery. Wine will also be available.

Uncle Spike

Stellenbosch-based 5 piece, the self-proclaimed Anglo-Boer sensationalists who never shy away from bringing big energy. Expect riffs on riffs, sexy saxophone, raps, and references to entjies and mischief.

Albany Lore

The solo music project of Cape-Town based calm trip-cat, Matthew Rightford. Albany lore channels a wide range of genre-influences such as jazz, hip-hop, RnB, funk, gqom, indie rock, soul, kwaito/pantsula, house and techno. All these are merged into a unique sophist-pop experience. Expect smooth rhythms, sultry vocals and the sweet nectar of saxophone.

Kloudink

This George-based band of young blood indie rockers bring their take to the indie-pop genre. They deliver high energy grooves and sad boy croons. Think Peach Pit, Hippocampus and Rex Orange County.
