Spring has sprung! It is time to push through the dark earthiness of winter and emerge into a new season of fresh, crunchy life! Join me for The Great Imagine Banquet.

If you have just found out about this event, welcome! I keep its whereabouts in time mostly underground with tickets selling through word of mouth. It is a unique happening that feels like a family feast littered with surprises. Leaving you feeling oddly, yet comfortably over-flowing with abundance.

Ultimately the whole event is a living art installation where food is the medium and, if you buy a ticket, you become a significant component. The philosophy of The Banquet is grounded in the concept of provenance ; curiosity about the origin of all that we experience including food, people, stories, ideas or products we live with. By appreciating the journey up to now we are able to toast to the potentiality of the future.

The event will be held at the new home of the IMAGINARIUM, Muizenberg.

In March I moved the Imaginarium to 9 Atlantic Road, Muizenberg. I feel incredibly lucky to have stumbled on it. It is perfect home for creative wonders to emerge. Over the winter I have been slowly, along with my brand new, minuscule human of a daughter, Hazel Mae, been sorting through the last dusty seven years of studios, projects and storage, to prepare for spring. And... here we are! It is time to open the doors and invite you in.

What you should know about a Banquet by Nix Davies

• It's a collaboration, she is the instigator.
• There will be more than three courses.
• Wine is included. You are, also, welcome to bring your own drinks.
• All types of eaters are welcome. Please reach out to Nix if you have any special requirements.
• The whole space will be lit with simple, raw, beautifully lighting.
• The food will be home cooked, mostly on fire.
• There is a small possibility you will end up cooking. There are a few stories here.
• The event is designed to rattle your expectations, so if you are 'expecting ' something... it probably won't happen.
• If you are hungry, go looking for food. Don't expect someone to deliver it to you. Originally we were hunters and gathers - return to source.
• The person next to you is most likely super-awesome.
• There probably won't be enough chairs.... on purpose. This will give you an opportunity to ask someone to move up so you can snuggle next to them.
• You might leave feeling like something magical just happened, yet not quite be able to explain it.

Donations will be going towards rent of the beautiful space we have made home in.
