In our fifth and final installment of our Nature Yoga & Hike Sessions we focus on heart-opening, energising backbends.

Our day-to-day activities require us bending forward a big part of our day, so much so that for most of us, bending backwards is a rather new, even scary, idea. Scary in the sense that it requires us to fully open our hearts, leaving us exposed, even vulnerable in the most primal sense.

During our back-bending session we will start off by slowly exploring and awakening the different muscles involved and then exploring different back-bending postures, adding on a few layers as we go.

When: Sunday, 24 November 2019

Where: Giba Gorge

Time: 08h15 - 10h30

Tickets: R160.00 per person. Tickets are available through Quicket and ticket sales close Wednesday, 20 November 2019. No tickets will be sold at the event and space is limited to 20.

Included in the ticket price is your entrance to the park, a 60-minute guided yoga class and a mindful 5km hike.

What to bring:

  • A yoga mat / towel - limited yoga mats available on request only.
  • Water
  • Comfortable walking shoes

Afterwards you are more than welcome to join for a coffee or breakfast and connect with new yoga friends. 

Please note that the walk is weather dependent. Our yoga class will be unaffected by the weather.

The event is open to all fitness levels and you don’t need to have attended previous sessions to join in on Part 5.

About Mags

Mags started her yoga journey in 2010 and is a 200hr Vinyasa and Satyananda trained yoga instructor. She teaches weekly at Virgin Active Hillcrest and Limber Lotus Lifestyle Studio and also offers various pop-up events and retreats throughout the year. 

“As a yoga teacher I aim to create and hold a space where my students can explore, evolve and awake to their truest self. In my classes I focus on taking students through safe, physical and energetic journeys, offering guidance along the way. Hope to catch you in a class soon!”
