ABOUT
We have a TRULY SOLID LINE-UP of artists offering their unique dj services to our fund-raiser event, for which we have the most ideallic venue - an outdoor, industrial space set against the train tracks with a sprawling, uninterupted view of Table Mountain & Lions Head as the backdrop :)This is a 12hour day party in an un-used location, and YOUR SUPPORT WOULD REALLY MEAN us getting closer to realising the artistic vision destined for Lobo. Lobo will be on site (though in a state of undress) to view what has become of him thus far :)
The Spirit Train is a massively-exciting and challenging art project bound for the dessert plains of Tankwa Town, Afrika Burn 2015. This is a beautiful marriage of uniquely skilled artisans, creatives, blacksmiths, graffitti artists & event planners that have been working hammer & nail to bring their expansive imagination to life, in the form of a large mutant vehicle. What began as an idea at Afrika Burn 2014, has after 6 months of concept development become a highly-refined vision of sonic, aural and sensory pleasure that will delight all those who encounter the beast – otherwise known as Lobo.

THE STORY
This is the story of Lobo – part animal, part machine:
After the apocalypse mankind was wiped out, and only a few survived. The machines had upset the balance and a cold fog surrounded the earth. What was left was barren wasteland and scattered fragments of technology – a parasite draining the soil of all remaining resources. The moon had moved closer to the earth and a new anarchy existed between man and animal.
Gravity had shifted and the lunar cycles empowered the wolves. They became our loyal protectors – but for only those of pure spirit – the Tribe. In the name of their future, the Tribe built Lobo in a quest to restore the equilibrium.
With relentless spirit they created her - an all-sensory beast of the dust. Part machine, part wolf, with sound and light as her weapons, instinct her guiding force and beauty her charm, Lobo roams the dessert and summons the spirit of the Tribe to raise the moon every night, and restore the balance the machines destroyed. Lobo lays down her head when the moon fades, but as she rises so does the Tribe ……. for the only thing that powers Lobo, is the SPIRIT of the Tribe.
And so Lobo moves with stealth-like precision along the dust-covered plains of Africa, in search of nothing ….. but the moment. Nothing could stop her, no traps, no forces of nature ... but her delicate heart. And so she offered her heart to the Tribe, to be protected in return for their own protection.
Lobo displays courage, loyalty and is our medicine - a GIFT to be enjoyed :)
