ABOUT

Every child (ever person) wants to be and needs to be blessed throughout life. To be intentionally blessed by parents is one of the most precious gifts a child can receive. Living without a blessing, especially from parents in the home you grow up in, is a huge loss for any child.

For the first time this workshop will be presented in Gauteng. This workshop focuses on providing parents with Biblical teaching, coaching and practical guidelines on:

Understanding the importance and the power of parental blessing;

The effects blessing and cursing (verbal or non-verbal) may have on an individual’s course of life;

Understanding the significance of intentionally releasing blessing over a child at specific times in life;

Breaking the power of a cycle of cursing (lack of blessing) and establishing a cycle of blessing for generations.

The significance of ceremony and its capacity to seal something in the heart;

How to plan and prepare for a special transition ceremony (rite of passage) and launch a child into adulthood;

How to encourage a child in his of her God-given identity and destiny;

What do I do if I missed the opportunity with my grown-up child/ren?

How does a single parent go about blessing a child with or without the other parent’s involvement?

Presenters, Tobie and Zanel Verreynne (Western Cape provincial coordinators for Family Foundations International), have presented this workshop a number of times in Cape Town. The results have been staggering and many parents have testified of the difference it has made to their relationship with their children and even how it affected their extended family. Parents have found that as they started to put into practice what they learned at the workshop and through the accompanying book, their children responded positively and even differently. Especially learning how to put together a meaningful blessing ceremony ("rite of passage") for their children at the start of puberty, helped to shift and seal something in the children's hearts.
