Silver Cut-Out Earrings: Beginner's Jewellery-making Workshop
Sat Oct 5, 14:00 - Sat Oct 5, 17:30
Erin Frances Creative
ABOUT
Join us in Erin Frances' Claremont studio to make your very own pair of silver earrings. We've tailored this workshop specially for beginners - choose from a few simple shapes and we'll guide you through the process of preparing your silver plate and using a jeweller's sawframe to pierce out your chosen shape. Lastly, we'll add the earring wires and bend them into shape. It's such a great feeling to be able to say you made it yourself!
Date: Saturday 5 October 2019
Time: 2pm-5.30pm
Place: 227 Imam Haron Rd, Claremont
Cost: R650 per person
Cost includes: all materials & consumables, access to our full range of jeweller's tools & equipment, and tea / coffee / snacks.
Unfortunately no silver casting facilities are available, but in this workshop you'll learn the process of hand-fabricating silver - rolling, annealing, filing, soldering, polishing and more. This is the age-old art of the silversmith.
This is a once off workshop - feel free to join our regular weekly classes if this workshop leaves you wanting more (we understand, it's pretty darn addictive!).
See you at the bench!
p.s. Most of our beginner's workshops are repeated on a regular basis throughout the semester - check out our Quicket profile page (see "more from this organiser" at the bottom of this page) for all upcoming events, or subscribe to our mailing list using the subscribe form on our website (www.erinfrancescreative.com) to keep up to date with new events as they go live.
p.p.s. We are a small team of two, offering a uniquely tailored and intimate experience and therefore we unfortunately can't offer refunds for any tickets once they have been purchased.
