Valentine's Day Rustig Hike

Rustig is only 45 minutes from Johannesburg or Pretoria.
Rustig turn off on the R401 sandroad: S[masked] E[masked]
Take the R560 towards Brits from Hekport and then the second Hartbeesfontein turn off to the left. You will start to see brown boards from here to Rustig.

 

From Pretoria:
Kerk/Church St drive through the R512 past Lanseria, turn left into Skerries, then right into R560 then right into Hartbeesfontein then drive a further 1,2 km then right into Rustig. 

There are 3 routes to chose from easy to challenging:

Olivenhout Trail (Yellow) 3 km @R150 plus R30 event fee total R180,00
Witstinkhout Trail (Red) 5km @180 plus R30 event fee , Total R210.00
Karen Trail (Green) 13km@200 plus R30 event fee, Total R230,00

 

The venue has magnificent picnics and Braai areas. A big blue pool to cool down after the hike. However you have to bring your own charcoal or wood , importantly your Braai food. I.e meat, salads, rolls, drinks, camp chairs, picnic blankets etc.

 

What to bring along
Water at least 2 litres as it get very hot as the day progresses.
Hiking boots or Good walking shoes
Sunscreen
Sun hat
Rain Coat
Snacks- to keep the energy up

 

Meeting Point
We will meet next to the pool where one of the organisers will issue indemnity forms .
At the entrance use the buzzer and the guard will let you in.
