Tasting South Africa is a pop-up restaurant series whereby an array of traditional South African cuisine will be served. We will be exploring the diverse cultures and customs in South Africa, through our taste buds, sight and sound. A 4-course African Style dining experience with entertainment and beverages, all Proudly South African. And coincidentally when we as South Africa celebrate Heritage Day.

We will be serving strictly South African foods/dishes over a 4-course African Style dining experience.

14h00 - 15h15 : Welcome Snacks (Finger Foods-Buffet)

16h00 - 16h30 : Starter (Served)

17h00 - 17h30 : Main Course Buffet

18h00 - 18h30 :Dessert (Served)

You will be fed all throughout the event, so please ensure to bring VERY Hungry stomachs. All diets ignored for the day!

BEVERAGES

To tie in with our Proudly South African theme and to introduce you to the South African crafts, Tasting South Africa will provide our guests with south African brews. Be it wines, beers, ciders, brandy, gin and whiskey.

You will also get to taste some of favourites, Umqombhothi, along with Gingerbeer and Amarhewu. Non-alcoholic beverages will also be available for guest's consumption.

No cash bar as we won't be selling the alcohol. Each guest will be provided with a Beverage Booklet which will give them beverage vouchers. Each guest will receive 5 vouchers in their booklet.

ENTERTAINMENT

As South Africans, we love sound and music. Throughout the event, we will have Poetry, Music and Dancers entertain us for the evening. Traditional South African gatherings are all about everyone connecting, feasting, dancing and singing together. Expect to do a lot of that as no seats will be reserved but a collective experience shared.

PARKING

There is parking space available on the side of the road and we will have car guards stationed there to look after your cars should you be travelling by car. Alternatively, guests can use the Muizenberg Beach parking space which is a walk away from the Cottage. Public transport is also available. Trains and taxis do stop by the Muizenberg train station which is 5 minutes walk away.

DRESSCODE

The cottage is right next to the beach, please make sure to dress comfortably in case the weather gets a little nippy as the day progresses. SMART-CASUAL is the theme with a touch of South Africa. Check out some of the images for some inspiration.
