Birthing Beyond the Binary: LGBTQ+ 101 for Birthworkers
2-DAY TRAINING - September 14 & 21, 10:30 am - 4 pm
You are ready to dig deeper in how you can do some critical work towards self reflection and taking actionable steps to making a difference in how you show up for LGBTQ+ clients and patients that you work with as a birthworker. Sweet.
This training is for you if you are a doula, midwife, lactation consultant, childbirth educator, labour + delivery nurse, ob-gyn, postnatal educator and other birth & parenting support such as placenta encapsulation specialist, sleep consultant/coach, pregnancy fitness educator, newborn care specialist (NCS), baby nurse, night nurse or night nanny.

- Examining Power + Privilege
- Understanding Gender + Sexual Diverse Identities
- LGBTQ+ terminology
- Gender-Neutral Language: For Harm Reduction in Birthwork
Day 2: The Big 5 to Create A Safe Space
- Marketing + Visibility
- #RepresentationMatters Beyond the Hashtag
- Self (+ Practice) Management
- Allyship is a Verb - How Else are you Showing Up?
- Holding Safe Spaces in Unsafe Places
