CPR SAVES LIVES

CPR helps keep blood and oxygen flowing and dramatically increases the chances of survival in those who suffer a cardiac arrest. It effectively keeps blood flowing and provides oxygen to the brain and other vital organs, giving the victim a better chance for full recovery.

When properly and promptly performed, CPR can dramatically improve person’s chance of survival until an ambulance arrives and more advanced tools can be used.

This is a locally produced course designed to teach the skills of CPR and choking for victims of all ages, including ventilation with barrier devices. By nature, CPR classes are hands-on and interactive. Course participants will learn how to properly execute chest compressions in a fun and supportive environment.

Concerns performing mouth-to-mouth resuscitation. 

In 2010 the guidelines for performing CPR were changed, and now say that those who do not feel comfortable, or who have not received formal training, should attempt hands-only CPR. 

We advocate performing chest compressions even without breathing assistance. Hands-only CPR has been shown to be just as effective for many adults who experience sudden cardiac arrest.

This course is facilitated by Dr Kasvalu of METS SA

METS (Medical Emergency Training & Services) provides comprehensive and accredited training in first aid to Families, Companies and Individuals.

METS delivers accredited courses designed by the American Heart Association (AHA) and the Resuscitation Council of South Africa (RCSA).

The AHA is the world renowned leaders in resuscitation science, education and training, who have developed international guidelines for Medical Emergencies.

METS uses up to date teaching methods with courses taught by registered Healthcare Professionals using the latest training aids and manikins to give the most realistic practical training experience possible.
