We are the South African chapter of the Service Design Network International, which aims to expand the awareness, reach and utilisation of Service Design in South Africa. We are hosting this event as our kick-off event to announce the establishment of our chapter and introduce our current practices of Service Design. We would like anyone that has a curiosity around Service Design to attend.

Nevo Hadas

Trouble (or interesting stuff with uncertain outcomes) follows Nevo like a lovesick puppy. Nevo’s experience has taken him from spearheading internet design in 1996, Silicon Valley startup in 1999, divisional CEO for a public company 2007, lecturer at international business schools and managing partner at dy/dx (&innovation). Nevo has worked with many global brands and won numerous SA and global digital awards. He loves to share his passion for building new things but excludes IKEA furniture from that list.


Nailah Conrad

Nailah is a lecturer in Health Innovation and Design at the University of Cape Town; in this course, she guides students to innovate for health through the application of design thinking methodologies. Nailah has trained as a Coach with the Hasso Plattner School of Design Thinking at the University of Cape Town. Here she facilitates the use of design tools among diverse participants ranging from members of the finance industry to postgraduate students. Nailah is also a certified facilitator of LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® methods.


Katherine Roderick

The first time Katherine touched the internet she fell in love. Her experience since has spanned roles as designer, strategist and at present she heads up digital communication at the City of Cape Town. She’s interested in planning and strategy to help users navigate the digital world more simply, and tries to live by the motto; “change the world or go home”.
