ABOUT

Slugabed, aka Greg Feldwick, creates music that epitomizes the Future Bass sound.
Roaming the leftfield of hip hop, dubstep and much much more, the quality beat mangler is hard to pin down, ever mutating with a unique sound all his own.
First kicking off with a split EP on MYOR with skweee sidekick Coco Bryce, Slugabed quickly became associated with a young wonky scene that included Rustie, Hudson Mohawke and Flying Lotus.
In Brighton he held down a residency at the DONKY PITCH club night, introducing his peers to his arpeggiated boom-bap gloop with releases on RAMP Recordings and Stuff Records, showcasing his knack for original beats with a dancefloor sensibility.
Strong support from the likes of Mary Anne Hobbs, Benji B and others on BBC Radio 1, official remixes for EPROM and Kelpe and a dancefloor killing bootleg of Pharoah Monch's classic "Simon Says" all followed, but it was his 2009 Ultra Heat Treated EP on the cutting-edge Planet Mu (OFFICIAL) that garnered more serious attention and pushed his sound to a global audience.
Ninja Tune Official soon came knocking for an appearance on their 20th Anniversary boxset and that Roots Manuva approved remix of "Witness (1Hope)" sparked a record deal.
Smoke a blunt in space and much of Slugabed's output on Ninja Tune would serve as the perfect soundtrack, especially his critically acclaimed Time Team album released in 2012.
He has toured the world since, and started up his own UK Bass imprint Activia Benz, releasing the music him and his partner Jake likes.
Now he is coming to South Africa with a set in Johannesburg at our favourite dancefloor, Kitcheners, with Broaden A New Sound's first Below The Bassline party of 2015 followed by a set at Cape Town Electronic Music Festival (CTEMF).
