Pendulum - To Find / In Search of Equilibrium
Northern Dance Project presents a Contemporary dance program.
Chalkboard opens with the dancers on a bench constantly supporting each other throughout, the dance moves into a piece called How to Disappear a feel of loss, out of sync finishing with Harmony a gentle quartet to find balance, all choreographed by the Artistic Director Deborah McFadden.
Untitled by Kitty Phetla choreographed originally in 2013, relates to finding friendship. The first half closes with a NEW commissioned piece by Janine Booysens Exhale a sense of being unbalanced and insecure with life!
The second half opens with Pendulum, the dance interprets the search of equilibrium. Live accompaniment a String Quartet the Limbada' family three sisters and a brother play a variety of pieces from Bach to Billie Eilish vocals by Nasha Van Zyl. Followed by Journey originally choreographed in 2013 a piece relating to finding equilibrium after grief. Before closing with a quirky piece called Virvelvind meaning whirlwind, Jody Sissing has created on the Junior Associates of NDP Look up Child.
